The Mayor and Mayoress of Kirklees visited school yesterday (Wednesday 6th July). This was in celebration of our success in the competition for pictures of the Queen and writing about what it means to be British. We have a display in school of some of the wonderful entries we had, feel free to come in and take a peek if you get chance. Following his visit the Mayor emailed to say:
“Thank you for allowing Carol and Myself to visit your wonderful school, to meet with the two winners and the rest of the school. Please pass on our thanks to them for making us feel so welcome and we look forward to our next visit.”
The Mayor also published this Tweet:
A great visit to @eastbierleyPS what a wonderful school a warm welcome & some great questions from the children. pic.twitter.com/GnEsskF3S1
