We do retweet author and publisher giveaways – please feel free to do the same – we have been really lucky and had a lot of wins by doing so. We have won quite a few books – sometimes one at a time and sometimes larger amounts. This has enabled us to introduce new texts (some before they are even published) to school and is helping develop a love of reading. We also engage with authors this way as they like to hear about work children do based on their books and about how much the children enjoy their books. Through this, we hope to build in an author visit in the autumn.
If you are going online and are interested in reading, do try the Toppsta website. A site where you – or your child – can review books and you can bid for giveaways so they receive books to review for the site. We have had some success with this too and have won half a dozen books as a school and members of staff have started bidding individually (with some success) too.
