Admissions

As a voluntary controlled school, admissions to the school are managed by our local authority, Kirklees.

Admissions to Reception Class for September 2025

All applications to East Bierley Primary School must be made through the local authority where you live. The school sits within Kirklees, but is very close to the border with Bradford and not far from Leeds. In recent years we have seen an increase in applications from Bradford residents with many successfully gaining a place for their children at the school.
For residents in Kirklees please follow this link: https://www.kirklees.gov.uk/beta/admissions/apply-primary-school-place.aspx

For residents in Bradford please follow this link: https://www.bradford.gov.uk/education-and-skills/school-admissions/apply-for-a-place-at-one-of-bradford-district-s-schools/

The closing date for applications to Reception class is 15th January 2025 and National Offer Day, when you find out which school your child has been allocated a place is 16th April 2025.

The application process allows parents to make three ordered preferences of school. If East Bierley is your preferred school then it is important that you make us your first preference on your application. A higher preference does not give a higher priority for a place, but when a child qualifies for a place at more than one of the schools named, they will be offered a place at the highest preference school.
