May Day Celebration

22 May 2019 @ 09:30 - 15:30

Our May Day Celebration will be held on Wednesday 22nd May, weather permitting. Our theme this year is The Environment and recycling. We would like everyone to design / make a hat (or a costume) with an environmental theme. There will be prizes for each class as always and a prize for the best hat created and worn by an adult!
It could be an upcycled outfit that reuses or recycles items, it could be a hat with a key environmental message such as the impact on marine life of plastic or the deforestation due to palm oil (the children will be able to tell you more about that!). It could be made using recycled objects, it could link to a book about the environment.
After the parade round the village, we would love you to join us in school for some art work based on the environment and maybe even recycling. Refreshments will be available in the hall until classes are changed and ready to begin.
In the afternoon, we will have our traditional dances ranging from the maypole to the hornpipe and the sword dance.
Following our dancing, you will be able to sign your child out of class as there will be refreshments and stalls comprising traditional games on the moor to complete our summer celebration.
